GOMERSAL are up to third in the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship B Division after ending Bankfoot's run of success.

Craig Lightowler made an unbeaten 46 and Jack Seddon 36 as Gomersal passed Bankfoot's disappointing total of 155 with five wickets down and six overs to spare.

Bankfoot, whose main contributors were Josh Marsden (52) and Micky Hutchins (35), struggled against left-armer James Russell (4-44).

Bowling Old Lane won by six wickets at home to Hopton Mills, who found the going tough as they were dismissed for 116.

Chris Scott (38) was the only batsman who looked able to counter an attack in which Sadaqat Zaman took 3-23. Ahsan Butt, a prolific scorer in recent seasons, made 36 as Old Lane secured victory.

Townville's fourth straight win – by nine wickets over Altofts – enabled them to open a 12-point lead at the top, while second-placed Methley had too much firepower for Spen Victoria as they cruised to a 95-run win which earned them 20 points.

Former Undercliffe opener Hamid Khan continued his good form with 92, while Luke Bullingham's 34 helped swell the total to 252-6.

Skipper Ollie Davison (45) and Peter Jackson (43) battled hard for Spen Victoria but they were bowled out for 157 as spinner Edward Walmsley took 3-34 and overseas paceman Samuel Mofokeng 3-30.

Carlton opener Chris Wynd (106) breezed to his first Bradford Premier League century as his side secured a maximum haul in an 81-run win over Brighouse.

Four players passed 30 for Brighouse – Asad Mahmood (38), Srinidhi Kumar (36), Wajid Hussain (34) and Zafar Jadoon (30) – but nobody made a telling contribution in their 215, former Brighouse captain Will Smith taking 4-50 for Carlton and Ismail Patel 3-22.

Wrenthorpe dismissed Hartshead Moor for just 48 at Highmoor Lane to set up a ten-wicket success, Jonathan Rudge (5-20) and Jordan Sleightholme (3-9) helping to dismiss the hosts in only 29.1 overs.

Wrenthorpe cruised to victory in 6.3 overs, with former East Bierley batsman Greg Wood – back after his rugby union playing duties with Sandal – hitting 38 not out.
