RAIN may have ruined Sunday's JCT600 Bradford League Division Two programme but Morley weren't complaining.

Their promotion was confirmed when third-placed Baildon failed to collect maximum bowling points in their abandoned game at Hartshead Moor.

Meanwhile, no-one was feeling more frustrated than second-placed Scholes, who had dismissed Bowling Old Lane for 65 and were 45-1 when play was washed out.

Victory would have secured them promotion too but they only need three more points to be certain.

Joe Duffy (3-12) and Yasir Ali (3-19) were responsible for dismissing Old Lane so cheaply, while Kasir Maroof was unbeaten on 26 when play was halted with just 21 needed for victory.

Baildon are the only team who could pip Scholes but they only have the slimmest of chances.

Hartshead Moor made a challenging 222-9 in their 50 overs, with overseas player Fahad Ul-haq scoring an unbeaten 103, hitting two sixes and nine fours, George Saville (33) giving him good support.

Waqas Maqsood (3-55) was the best of the Baildon bowlers, but the Jenny Laners were prevented from starting their reply by the rain.

Fourth-placed Yeadon were also prevented from batting in their match at Brighouse, where the home side had made 179-9.

Muhammad Khurhid (66) and Zahir Hussain (58) hit half-centuries, while Oliver Halliday returned 6-36 for Yeadon.

Bankfoot's Neil Nicholson hit his second half-century of the weekend at Gomersal. He made 68 and was backed up by Josh Marsden (45no) as his side posted 190-7. Gomersal were struggling at 21-2 when play was abandoned.

Spen Victoria looked well placed for a second win of the weekend at Keighley when the game was washed out.

Abid Awan (4-20) and Rob Warriner (3-15) helped to bowl out their hosts for 117, and Spen were 55-2 when the rain came, Matt Garside making 33.

In the basement battle, Sajjad Khan made 70 in Windhill's innings, leg-spinner James Massheder taking 5-70 for Idle, who were 33-0 when the match came to a premature end.
