CLECKHEATON will come up against a familiar foe in tomorrow’s Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions’ Trophy semi-final (1.00).

In the York team that travel to Moorend will be former Cleckheaton leg-spinner Tom Pringle, above.

“Tom is a good bowler, a good cricketer and very competitive and he played for us for several seasons,” says Cleckheaton’s cricket chairman Dave Worrell.

“Other than that, we don’t know too much about York, but we are happy to have reached the semi-finals at our first attempt and it is a journey into the unknown.

“But we will go into it with the same attitude that we do for all our matches – we will be doing our very best to win it.”

Cleckheaton have already defeated Hoylandswaine to reach the last four but Elsecar have toppled Woodhouse Grange and Townville to get to final, which will be played on a date and venue yet to be decided.
