Overseas player Suleman Khan made a superb 124 not out as Lightcliffe inflicted a first defeat of the season on Pudsey St Lawrence in JCT600 Bradford League Division One.

Khan struck six sixes and 15 fours, sharing a fourth-wicket stand of 132 with skipper Jonathan Wilson (47), as the Halifax side overcame the hosts’ challenging 251-6 with 11 balls to spare to record their second win of the season.

Highlight of St Lawrence’s innings was a century from opening batsman Mark Robertshaw, whose 122 included two sixes and 16 fours as he shared a third-wicket stand of 143 with skipper James Smith (71).

St Lawrence dropped to third place, as a result of this defeat, behind two unbeaten sides in leaders Farsley and Woodlands.

Farsley beat bottom club Yeadon but only after a struggle as the 16-run margin of victory indicates.

Mark Harrison top-scored with 50 as Farsley were bow-led out for 151 and then took 4-26 as Yeadon were dismissed for 135, of which Kiwi Elliott Herd made 54 to go with his three wickets.

Farsley lead the table with 73 points, six ahead of Woodlands, who beat Pud-sey Congs by eight wickets. Congs, who are without a win, made 175-9, with Chris Brice taking 4-37 and Pieter Swanepoel 3-52. Opener Scott Richardson then top-scored with 56, while new signing Logan Weston made 48 not out and Simon Mason 40 as Wood-lands won comfortably.

Bradford & Bingley gained a five-wicket home win over East Bierley, bowling out the visitors for 177, with spinners Noman Ali (3-38) and Harry Smallwood (3-45) impressing, before cruising to their target with 13.3 overs to spare thanks to Ryan Cooper (85no) and David Clow (57).

Half-centuries from Gary Fellows (59) and Ben Elvidge (52) helped Hanging Heaton to beat Morley by 38 runs.

In Division Two, Harts-head Moor’s unbeaten start came to an end when Undercliffe beat them by 127 runs to move level with Keighley at the top.

Undercliffe had two century makers, opener Hamid Khan and overseas player Nawaz Sardar, who both scored 114, to help their side reach an imposing 281-4. Zeeshan Qasim then took 5-18 as Hartshead were bowled out for 154.

New captain Freddie Pearson top-scored with 61 in Keighley’s 31-run win over Spen Victoria. The hosts made 173 before bowling out Spen for 142, new Australian player Andrew King taking 5-54.

Undercliffe and Keighley lead the table with 77 points, 20 points ahead of Baildon, who moved into third place after beating Idle by 26 runs.

Spinners Mushtaq Ahmed (4-28) and skipper Simon Bailey (3-28) did the damage as Baildon bowled out Idle for 146.

There were centuries for two overseas players in Brighouse’s 86-run win over bottom club Windhill.

Fakhar Hussain made 119 against his old club in Brighouse’s 269-9 before Windhill’s new overseas batsman Salman Ali replied with 126. He received little support from his team-mates as they were bowled out for 183.
