Weekend off left Bradford Bulls players a long time to stew

This weekend’s game against Hull KR is huge and we go into it after another weekend off.

The previous weekend off we had after the Huddersfield game probably came at the wrong time because we could’ve done with playing again straight away after that win.

Then we met a Warrington side who were smarting from their Challenge Cup defeat against Wigan and played exceptionally well.

They got us right off the bat really. We kicked it out on the full and didn’t touch the ball for seven minutes, so that was all she wrote.

We didn’t play like the Bradford Bulls side that took the field a couple of weeks before.

But we’ve had another weekend off and a long time to sit on that and stew on it. Hopefully we’ll get a much-improved performance coming into the remaining games of the season.

We definitely need to be improved because that just wasn’t us at all and was disappointing for the fans who went over.

We’re looking to go into these last four games as optimistic as possible. We won’t be putting too much pressure on ourselves.

Whatever happens with other results is out of our hands. We’ll just concentrate on what’s in our power.

But there’s even more focus on Sunday’s game because we’re launching the new pledge scheme and it’ll be good to see the fans down at Odsal in numbers.

Hull KR always bring boisterous support, so we need as many Bulls fans as we can get down there supporting us.

They’ve been fantastic all season, no doubt about it. It’s been like the Odsal of old this year at times and that’s great for the lads because we really do appreciate it.

I can speak for the rest of them when I say it really does mean a lot when the fans come down in numbers and get behind us.

That goes for away games as well. There was a decent lot at Warrington who sang until the end and it’s great to see them sticking by the team. We’ll do our best to reward them.
