The date and time of the Bulls' Carnegie Challenge Cup home quarter-final against Hull FC has finally been set for Sunday, June 1, kicking off at 3.15pm with the tie televised live on BBC2.

Although the draw was made on Monday night, the RFL have been unable to confirm the schedule until this afternoon.

Hull faced being kicked out of the competition after it emerged they fielded an ineligible player - Jamie Thackray - in the last two rounds.

The RFL had to investigate that revelation before deciding last night the Airlie Birds would continue, while they also had trouble sorting their television schedule.

Their preferred Saturday live match - Leeds versus Wigan Warriors - was in danger because Yorkshire are playing Lancashire in a County Championship cricket match at Headingley Carnegie over the same weekend.

It left the Rhinos contemplating finding a new venue but the Super League champions have now decided both games can be staged simultaneously.

Leeds will face Wigan on Saturday, May 31 at 2.30pm, with the tie being beamed out live on BBC1.

However, dates for the remaining non-televised quarter-finals - Wakefield Trinity Wildcats versus part-timers Oldham and Hull KR against holders St Helens - have yet to be announced.
