Bulls cup run would be just the tonic
 |
| Steve McNamara played at Wembley as a Bulls player in the 1997 loss to St Helens |
Boss Steve McNamara reckons success in the Carnegie Challenge Cup would do wonders for the Bulls.
They aim to reach the quarter-finals on Sunday by seeing off last year's beaten finalists Catalans Dragons.
It has been five years since Bradford reached the showpiece themselves, defeating Leeds in Cardiff in 2003.
It has also been more than a decade since they featured at Wembley, when McNamara himself lined up in the side that lost out to St Helens.
"I have played at Wembley and would love to coach a side to the final - and hopefully win it," he said.
"It's a great competition and it's a great place to go; everything it's cracked up to be and more.
"I'd love to go there this year. The club would also benefit from a good cup run, so to get there and win it is a big goal for everyone here.
"We know what we must do on Sunday to make that happen."
Although their French opponents are on an eight-match unbeaten run, McNamara does not reckon Mick Potter's side are a cut above.
Bradford were the last side to beat them in March and he said: "They are certainly not unbeatable but what they have showed is a great tenacity and toughness.
"They have a real hard core of very experienced Australians who have been there and done it for years in the NRL and know how to win close games.
"They have some young, exciting French players and some hard-nosed Aussies.
"Catalans have quality right across the park in all areas and they are a side who have shown the ability to keep coming at you and hanging in right to the end.
"They know the way to the final too, having been there last year, and will fight to get there again but hopefully we can get over them this weekend."

One consolation is, we did manage to win in France so we know we're in with a shout. Their league position is no fluke though.
