We're all delighted for Manchester Mick

Michael Platt gave his Barmy Army plenty to sing about against London Broncos Michael Platt gave his Barmy Army plenty to sing about against London Broncos

Well, I’m sure ‘Michael Platt’s Barmy Army’ will be singing louder than ever!

Thank God for big Mike Platty - I’m sure he was just happy to be in the team but to score four tries was an awesome effort and I’m chuffed to bits for him.

‘Manchester Mick’ is one of those players that has freak strength. He’s not a huge guy but he has incredible upper body strength and is a real handful for defenders - as London found out!

Apart from Platty’s four tries, probably the only other positive from the game was our strength of character to come back from 16-0 down.

We’re a real tight-knit group and the way we fought back really showed that.

But I’m not going to lie and say that we’re happy with scraping through with a poor performance against a struggling side.

We have high standards and we fully expect to be a part of the top eight and we know that we’ll need to improve from last Sunday’s performance for that to happen.

This week is Challenge Cup quarter-final weekend.

Everyone at Bradford would give anything to still be a part of the competition but that ship has sailed and it just wasn’t to be.

There are some brilliant ties and the eye-catcher has to be the Wigan versus Saints game.

Wigan have been the stand-out side for me and are the favourites for the Cup in my eyes.

This week’s changing-room banter has once again been dominated by the one and only Elliott Whitehead!

His mate has a barbers and asked Smelly to do a promotional video for it - unfortunately he posted it on YouTube and even more unfortunately, we found it! Haha - “I’m Elliott Whitehead and this is where I get my hair cut.” What a berk!

Got to finish this week with a big thank-you to the travelling support against the Broncos.

I wasn’t there but by all accounts you really made a racket and all the lads really do appreciate it.

Hope to see you all at our next Super League game against Salford.
