Nick Scruton column: Well it’s certainly easier writing a weekly column after a win than it is a loss!

It’s always a big relief to get that first win under your belt and hopefully now we can relax slightly, enjoy our rugby and play some good stuff.

Because, although the win against Castleford was a hard-fought one in tough conditions, it was far from easy on the eyes!

It was a big improvement from the previous week but there’s still plenty of work to be done and we are fully aware of that.

We have Wigan up next and they will be by far our biggest test yet. They have a team full of quality and, although Sam Tomkins isn’t the most popular Rugby League player among the fans, the things he brings to the game are pretty special.

We’ll be working hard to stop that and put in a strong, solid performance to come away with the two points.

As if preparing for another round of Super League isn’t hard enough, the 2012 Bradford Bulls first team squad are having to deal with a phantom shoe lace strangler!

Poor Luke Gale’s shoe laces have been tied into fisherman’s knots that Captain Birds Eye would be proud of!

My money’s on Shaun Ainscough – that Lancashire bus is far from trustworthy!

I have to finish this week’s column with a big thank you to the fans. Last week I commented on the ‘booing’ at the Catalans game but our travelling support against Cas on Sunday was second to none.

It means a lot to the lads when you all get behind us and it always brings the best out in the team.

Hope to see you all and hear you all on Sunday for Round Three. COYB!
