YOUNGSTERS got the chance to pick up some tips from top Premiership stars.

Members of Charlton Athletic’s first-team travelled around Greenwich and Bexley to meet children taking part in coaching courses organised by the Addicks community scheme.

And hundreds of youngsters, between five and 15 years old, collected autographs and got to ask the stars some questions of their own.

Community scheme project manager Jason Morgan said: “The courses are always popular, but the visits from the players are the highlight of the week for the youngsters.

“The players are always generous with their time. It makes the whole week unforgettable.” Among the Addicks out and about were midfielder Graham Stuart and defender Luke Young, who attended the Avery Hill Club in New Eltham and carried out a question-and-answer session with around 70 children.

South African duo Mark Fish and Shaun Bartlett visited Eltham’s Coldharbour Leisure Centre, while the special guests at the London playing fields on Shooters Hill Road, Charlton, were ex-England international Chris Powell and Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

Charlton’s kit manufacturers Joma sponsored a course at the Sparrows Lane training ground. Scott Parker and Jason Euell were on hand, while Kevin Lisbie and Jonathan Fortune went to the course at Greenwich Park.
