STEVE Crossley's return to the Bulls this week reunited me with a former team-mate as we played together at Featherstone last season.

I have kept in touch with him since then and it's great to be back alongside him again now at Bradford.

He's a good player and a boyhood Bulls fan who has proved himself one of the best props in the Championship in recent seasons.

Steve can play 80 minutes if needs be and is one of the fittest front-rowers in the Championship.

He's going to help us a lot when he takes to the field, plus his arrival is going to increase the competition for places significantly among the props.

But it's the same among us backs and it can only help the team and the squad to have so many players fighting for a spot.

I thought we played well last week against Hull KR, even though we ended up losing by 20 points in the end.

A couple of their tries might have come from how the referee handled the game – but that's part and parcel of rugby.

We should still have been able to stop those tries being scored, but there were definitely positives to take into this week.

It was good to come across some familiar faces from back home such as Albert Kelly, who I played with at Parramatta.

The fact we put in the performance we did was a real positive for the club ahead of the Super Eights at the end of the year.

I was very lucky to play last week as Danny Williams was due to play but pulled out on the Saturday because of injury.

I wanted to make my mark and show that I'm ready to play against a Super League team.

I thought I went okay but it was a real shame that Chris Ulugia got injured and will be out for eight weeks.

He's been playing well for the last month but I'm sure whoever steps in will do a good job.

I felt good last week and am looking forward to getting out there again this weekend at Doncaster, where hopefully we can get another win on the board.
