Having grown up supporting and playing for St Helens, Wigan tomorrow night is a special game for me personally.

Being brutally honest, I can’t stand Wigan and never have done since I was a kid.

I know a lot of people who support them and I don’t get on with them either.

I remember when I went to the DW Stadium with Hull last season and there was chanting, the drum was banging, and the atmosphere was raucous.

Wigan fans don’t take to me very well, probably because I come from St Helens.

It would be very special if we could pull off a result tomorrow.

My record there as a player is good. I’ve lost there twice – once with St Helens and once with Hull – but I had some great wins there as a Saints player too.

I know what it takes to go there and get a result.

You need to perform from the first minute to last and if we’re going to take anything from tomorrow then we’re going to have to be at our absolute peak.

The result last week against Warrington was obviously hugely disappointing but in a weird way I was chuffed walking off the field at the end.

It was a really worrying time when I first picked up the injury at Rochdale and some of the things that happened with it.

But I’m over the moon with how it has since progressed. It has come on leaps and bounds.

I’ve near enough got full strength back in it, which I’m really pleased about.

I enjoyed it at full back. I was a bit rusty in some areas such as catching and passing but fitness-wise I felt good.

It’s difficult to pick positives out at the moment but it really doesn’t feel like we are far away.

Although we’re running out of time in regards to the play-offs, I’m sure we can pull it off.

Bradford had a great win at Wigan last season in trying circumstances, so why can’t we do it again? Bring it on.
