Jamie Foster column:

I’m back in the squad for Sunday’s game and to say I’m over the moon would be an understatement.

It’s the Magic Weekend and I believe over 60,000 tickets have been sold over the two days, so it’s going to be a fantastic event.

To be coming back so soon after injury is a massive boost for me, especially when it was initially feared I could be out for up to 16 weeks.

Training has been going that well and I’ve been meeting all the targets that Dan Ramsden, our physio, has set.

So it was decided that I would undergo a series of tests similar to the ones I undertook when I joined the club.

It turned out that I’m even stronger now than I was back then, so Dan spoke to the specialist, Lennard Funk, in Manchester and he was happy to give me the green light.

I’ve been to the Etihad Stadium before a couple of times for football matches but didn’t play in last year’s Magic Weekend there.

However, I played at Cardiff in the previous two years and I can’t wait to get out there on Sunday.

It’ll be pretty special and I’m very grateful to Franny for putting me straight back in the squad.

Michael Platt has dropped out to accommodate my return but he’s a great player and brings a lot to the team with the way he carries the ball.

I really respect Franny for making those sorts of tough decisions.

Hopefully I can repay him straight away by reproducing the kind of form I showed before my injury.

With Brett Kearney out injured, I could be needed at full back, but may also go back to the wing.

Above all, we want to make sure we get our performance right.

Huddersfield are a dangerous side, as they showed recently by knocking Leeds out of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup.

But we beat them convincingly at their place earlier in the season and we have to knock these bigger teams over if we want to achieve our aims come the end of the year.
