Jamie Foster column

First and foremost, I am delighted to be writing a new weekly column in the T&A and looking forward to keeping fans updated with goings on at the Bulls.

It’s been a long old pre-season but we’re raring go and I can’t wait to face Wakefield.

I played full back against Dewsbury and Leeds and I think I’ll be there again tomorrow.

I’ve felt comfortable there and am confident of doing well.

Whenever anyone talks about me and last year, they mention games at the start of the season with St Helens and the nightmare I had at Bradford.

But there were some good times as well. I know Bulls fans don’t want to be reminded of when I last played here with Hull and we won 70-6.

I’ve come a long way since then. I think I’ve changed as a person and I feel fitter and stronger as a player.

I feel like I’ve really moved on with my career and am just looking forward to just churning out some really good performances.

Some of the field sessions during pre-season and the miles we’ve put on our legs have been really tough.

I can’t see any other team matching us for fitness.

You play St Helens or Warrington and people say ‘you might stick with them for 60 minutes and they will then pull away’.

But I don’t think that’ll be the case with us. If we start well, then we’ll be able to stick with a lot of teams.

That’s something we’ve definitely got going for us this year.

Let’s not think ‘Warrington are coming here, let’s try and stay within 20 points of them so it’s not embarrassing.’ That’s losers’ talk and I’m not used to being around people like that.

If I talked like that at St Helens then James Graham would have turned around and hit me!

People may have laugh at that, but the likes of Graham, Paul Wellens and James Roby are unbelievable players with the right mindset.

I’ve slowly seen a change in mindset in our team during pre-season and I think we’re going to peak against Wakefield.
