Michael Platt's finest hour this season was scoring four tries against London Broncos in May
Michael Platt believes he has answered a few critics after establishing himself as a regular in Mick Potter’s side this season.
The Bulls centre appeared to have fallen down the pecking order after being given squad number 29 following the close-season arrival of Keith Lulia and Adrian Purtell.
But the versatile 28-year-old has enjoyed a solid campaign and weighed in with 11 tries, including an impressive four-try haul at London Broncos in May.
After Purtell was sidelined for the rest of the season following the heart attack he suffered in the aftermath of the Magic Weekend encounter with Leeds on May 27, Platt has featured regularly in the right centre berth.
“I know I’m good enough to play in this side,” said Platt.
“I’ve thought that from day one, even when I got squad number 29.
“Luckily Mick had a bit of a rethink when Purts was sidelined and I’ve played regularly. I’m grateful for that.
“I wouldn’t say I went badly this season and I wouldn’t say I went that well. I still think there’s a lot more to come.”
Purtell is waiting to discover whether he will be given the green light to resume his playing career and Platt is hoping to play with the Australian again next season.
“Purts is a quality player. Hopefully he can make a comeback and we can form some kind of partnership together.”
Table-toppers Wigan and Challenge Cup winners Warrington, meanwhile, provide all but four players in the 2012 Super League Dream Team.
Warrington prop Chris Hill, who was playing in the Championship with part-timers Leigh 12 months ago, has capped a remarkable debut season by becoming one of six newcomers to the prestigious mythical team chosen by a panel of journalists.
The Wigan trio of Josh Charnley, who finished on top of the Super League tryscoring list with 31 touchdowns, stand-off Brett Finch and Gareth Hock make the line-up for the first time, along with Warrington centre Ryan Atkins.
The other newcomer is Catalan captain and prop Remi Casty, who becomes the first Frenchman to make the team since it was introduced in 1996.
Wigan full back Sam Tomkins is one of four players making their third consecutive appearances, alongside his club captain Sean O’Loughlin, St Helens hooker James Roby and Warrington back-row forward Ben Westwood.
