Defence now key for Bradford Bulls try star Jamie Langley

Jamie Langley stole the show during last week’s crucial win over Hull KR – but an improved defensive display is his priority at Huddersfield on Sunday.

The Bulls’ longest-serving player touched down in either half against Rovers to double his tally for the season.

Langley was delighted with his try-scoring exploits, with his second score an exhilarating individual effort, but he was not happy with the points the Bulls conceded in the 32-26 win.

The 28-year-old loose forward wants an improvement against the Giants this weekend as Bradford look to give their Super League play-off hopes another massive boost.

“It was nice to get a couple of tries and double my tally for the year,” said Langley.

“Going back to the start of my career, I used to bob over quite regularly.

“Over the years, and playing a more middle-type role, the tries have dried up a bit, so it was nice to score twice in such a big game.

“We scored some quality tries as a team but defensively we had a couple of lapses.

“If we can just tighten up a bit for the next few games then we can put ourselves in a great position.”

Reflecting on the Hull KR victory – the Bulls’ fifth straight home win – Langley said: “It was nice to get the two points in front of our own fans because they’ve been absolutely unbelievable this season.

“The support we got on Friday night certainly helped us to get the win and I’ve no doubt they will turn out in force again at Huddersfield on Sunday.”

Defence is the key, go out at the start, hit'em hard, let'em know whose boss. Dominate their pack. Remember, they can't laik without the ball.

Don`t Give Brough the room to get his kicking game going or he`ll kick us to death like he did at Odsal.
