  • "The former directors, the Caisleyites who made a damaging bid without the means to follow up, and the RFL were all complicit in the demise of the Bulls. Why the RFL? Because they are the licensing authority and it seems did not do due diligence on the Bradford application. Being at the match on Friday, seeing the enthusiasm of the crowd and the quality of the team I turned to my neighbour and said it would be madness for this club not to be in superleague next season. If the RFL had the gall to try to relegate them I would hope the other super league clubs would resist such a foolish and self-damaging step. If the club are to lose their place let it be after the next licensing round but only if their application does not meet the criteria. And this time let the RFL do a proper job of evaluating the bids. In any case, the licensing system is farcical if well-intentioned. Let us go back to promotion and relegation and give hope and enthusiasm to the non-superleague clubs"

Bradford Bulls players paid this month's wages

Bulls players have not been paid for the current month Bulls players have not been paid for the current month

Bulls players have now been paid this month’s wages, it has been confirmed.

The Bradford squad were scheduled to be paid earlier today but the P & A Partnership – the administrators currently running the club – sent an e-mail to a Bulls employee at 5.30pm last night.

The e-mail, containing the message that the players would not be paid on time, was then circulated onto Mick Potter’s squad.

Ernie Benbow, chief executive of players union League 13, today spoke of a complete breakdown in communication between Guilfoyle and the Bulls players.

However, it was revealed this afternoon that they have now been paid.
