Bradford Bulls players paid this month's wages
9:35am Tuesday 14th August 2012 in Bulls
By Ross Heppenstall, Bradford Bulls Reporter
Bulls players have not been paid for the current month
Bulls players have now been paid this month’s wages, it has been confirmed.
The Bradford squad were scheduled to be paid earlier today but the P & A Partnership – the administrators currently running the club – sent an e-mail to a Bulls employee at 5.30pm last night.
The e-mail, containing the message that the players would not be paid on time, was then circulated onto Mick Potter’s squad.
Ernie Benbow, chief executive of players union League 13, today spoke of a complete breakdown in communication between Guilfoyle and the Bulls players.
However, it was revealed this afternoon that they have now been paid.

A non story, is it. Ok, I would advise who ever wins the bidding war to refuse to pay guilfoyle. See how he likes it. The man has no conscience, what so ever. Complains about the union, they have every right to make people, supporters aware of what is happening. I have, now nothing but utter contempt for the man.
I agree the lack of communication is a disgrace but if there is no money how can he sanction payment?
No wonder it all went quiet on the are the RFL funding the wages this month story.

The players need to be kept informed at all times they have been fantastic for the club in these very hard times as have the staff who have carried on working without pay
I would not blame any of them if they walked away from the club this man as not treated them with respect
I understand that the administrator as to keep a tight reign but he also as a duty of care to any staff still employed by the club.
To me he as broken that duty of care by not informing the staff in person what was happening not everyone as e mails
We need to look after these people they have not broken there contracts by not turning up to play and i would hope they carry on playing as they are thing like this do not give a good impression to anyone

As the players are going to be paid this story helps no one.

The Administrator has been econimical with facts when it suits him, and in my opinion he should have taken the first unconditional offer based on the ever moving end date. This is most unprofessional piece of business I have seen conducted, sometimes in the public domain, but only when it suits. The RFLand Superleague are setting a precident tht will come back and bite them on te bum. Well done boys!

I don't get it. What I don't like is the number of people on here who slate the administator and the RFL as if it is all their fault, they seem to think the club is owed something from these when in reality the club owes alot to the people at the RFL for still existing in some form as of today.
I've seen this at VP twice and both times is was awful so I know what this feels like, I'm just sick of all the fans sniping at those who are actually trying to help.
How many other super league clubs are having wages paid by the RFL? Be thankful of the help is all I say, not slate the helpers whenever you can.

We all know why the council got involved so need to rake over all that again.

We will never know how many clubs the RFL help out and to what extent.
The one point I will pick up on - Gargoyl is in this for one reason only - toline his own pockets. (to the tune of £500 per hour!) He has no feeling for anyone conected to tjhe club. Each day that point becomes clearer. I am extreemly gratefull for the support we are getting. None more so than other clubs helping with ticket sales etc.

Again, get real some posters. The Bulls are in administration, one step away from liquidation. The administrator's job is to protect the creditors. If he cannot pay staff then he must make them redundant - that is his remit. The fact that he hasn't sacked or sold any of the playing staff can only be applauded. We all realise the game being played out here - the RFL want to ensure the Bulls see out the season (and they are keeping their fingers crossed that we don't make the play-offs!). After that, it's all over and has been for a while. No one is interested in saving Bradford Bulls plc. Some of the bids have been comical. As stated before, the Bulls should have been liquidated weeks ago and a newco given the chance to plan for next season (in a division of the Championship) and beyond. Many SL chairmen have already made their minds up that SL doesn't need the Bulls (at least not from next season onwards) so let's pull the plug NOW and let all the dirty water run away. Doing it after the final game of the season will just make everyone more cynical and suspicious of the RFL.
You obvioulsy work for BG or the RFl if you know the bids have been comical???? or you're speaking out of your behind.......
Which SL chairman have you spoken to?? I was under the impression that all 13 AGREED to buy the Bulls? Or maybe you're listening to rumours that Ken Davy and Eamon McManus want the league numbers reducing (not the same as losing the Bulls is it? ever slight difference)

The offers are being discussed as I type, and hopefully we have resolution today or tomorrow. Please wait and see what comes out of the meetings today before putting us the Championship.
The RFL are bending over backwards to help us, don't forget that. Without their help we would have finished before Easter.
Players will be paid, new owner announced, whether temporary or permanent, and we will be in SL next year if all goes to plan!!!

I don't quite get all the doom and gloom. It seems this was just an oversight amid all the confusion, between the club and RFL. It is serious, but not the end of the world.

For a start the Money advanced to the Bulls. I understand is the SKY final payments under the present contractual arrangements. But in advance of the scheduled time to pay. And do you forget the 90% of all home games to be played at Odsal, and the Contingent liability clause that comes into the equation to the lease holder (ie RFL) which means the Bulls have to play 13 (12.6 for TVof Rs benefit) games at home, under our present 28 league game structure.
That's what I assume the written words meant anyway...
I remain to be totally convinced in the RFL as the benefactor you seem to think they are:
Besides which , in the Negotiaters game. You do not take the side of the seller if you are the Buyer! And vice-a-versa. That's fatal if you want a good deal.>
The only time sides can be taken is when a satisfactory deal is concluded.
And remember that deal is to be conditional on both parties being happy with how it pans out, with mutual benefit all round.
Notice I used the word conditional, swap that for concessions. Now you tell me from what we have heard have the RFL made any concessions?
I admire the patience of the buyers...most buyers I have known would have walked out on the sellers, and reported them to the office of fair trading after suffering the contemt we seem to have heard.
As they haven't taken this stance (to my knowledge anyway) we can only assume we are hearing a lot of flap doodle or shim sham, from many angles, and sources.

I don't think there are any questions over Halifax's ability to complete next season which ever league they find themselves, you can't say that about the Bulls.

The RFL are bending over backwards to help us, don't forget that. Without their help we would have finished before Easter. Players will be paid, new owner announced, whether temporary or permanent, and we will be in SL next year if all goes to plan!!!I agree. If we were to be relegated at end of season it does not give much time to replace us with a team that has to rebuild. They could run it with 13 teams but I don`t think that will happen. Maybe relegation looms at the next round of licences.

I have a lot of sympathy with them as the Bulls didn't have one home game in May, only the two in June and only one in July (in fact in 12 weeks they had only 3 home games at Odsal (we know about the Magic weekend, which, takes time for the revenue to reach the clubs via the RFL.)

You forget TVof NP, that the Super League license runs for another two years, and as not been revoked.

I can tell you that catergorically.
They have a further two years before they can apply for a Super League licence. That is their business plan, they would be foolish to jump the gun.
If the Bulls had to have their licence revoked, which would be totally unprecedented if the Club is purchased, as they have already been docked six points for going into administration. Which is theoretically the total punishment, without a further alteration to the laws in 2013.

If you dont buy in advance by this method the price will increase by £3 on match day.Why they couldnt provide tickets as they normally do is beyond me or did they announce this earlier and I missed it?

It's based on the fact that the Bulls are out with their begging bowl and have been since March and are in administration, infact the Cougars are in a better position at present to compete in Super League than the Bulls currently are.
It's fact.
After a takeover maybe the Bulls will be capable of being a Super League club but as of today they aren't.
I have a lot of sympathy with them as the Bulls didn't have one home game in May, only the two in June and only one in July (in fact in 12 weeks they had only 3 home games at Odsal (we know about the Magic weekend, which, takes time for the revenue to reach the clubs via the RFL.)
It appears the same fixture planners are at it in Championship1, but to a less extent than in the top echelon!
You forget TVof NP, that the Super League license runs for another two years, and as not been revoked.
Therefore the Bulls are for the foreseeable future a Super League club.
Halifax would not thank you for sticking your nose into their affairs.
So mull that over?
I won't bother to read up on the rules of licencing when I have a clerk to do it fo me> I can assume you will pore over the rule book now until the early hours??
Then again you don't even know how many league games there is so there is no suprise you missed that.
Who said anything of the sort, old bean.
Suppose I was just throwing something in the pot to keep you busy and away from sensible debaters,,,sadly it didn't work. But I will be totally accurate with all figures, if I can be bothered, in future.
However I will give you a lift, by telling you it was a mistake I made in the first post...My apologies to my extensive readership..ahem!!!

Appart from Leeds, how often do the Bulls take more than 2,000 away from home?

But one thing is certain, that any team playing one of the iconic sides in the league of the 13 others,
( that's a specific for TVof NP)
is usually guaranteed a better crowd from their own supporter base. Which of course makes Malky's comment viable. And how will the rfl get round this embarassment, if they had to take the draconian step of revoking a licence? If the club was purchased and on an even financial footing once more.
Time and the oracle will tell??

From 4 different sides here are the attendances v the iconic Bradford side and the non iconic Wakefield side. There isn't much difference.
Saints v Bradford 13025
Saint v Wakefield 13177
Warrington v Bradford 10750
Warrington v Wakefield 10686
Hull v Bradford 11673
Hull v Wakefield 11105
London v Bradford 2844
London v Wakefield 2268
There isn't much evidence that the Bulls draw in massive crowds in regular games verses other teams and Bacon Bantam has a point in saying the £50k estimate is well over the top.
You see debate is all about looking at something and breaking it down, many people are just quoting numbers and expect them to pass off as fact without question.
14k average gates, 28 games a season, £50k loss for each club if there is no Bradford, etc, etc.
Once again no doubt I'll be jumped all over for bringing some actual facts to the table even though they can be backed up over those just quoted on a whim with no back up.
This season I'll be suprised if the Bulls took 2000 away from home more than 3 times. Once v Leeds, one v Wigan when this trouble kicked off, I guess before then the travelling support would have been on par with the previous years and possibly this weekend v Huddersfield.

What I don't like is the throwing around of quotes which have no truth to them in order to try get a point across.
It seems once again when facts are thrown into a discussion the person bringing the facts to the table is just attacked.
Once again this all started with stupid comments from Bulls fans stating Halifax don't deserve a place in Super League and the League can't afford to go without the Bulls.
As it stands Halifax have done nothing wrong but to continue in the league they are in after being knocked back for a Super League licence, Bradford on the other hand who were given a licence have gone on and caused no end of headaches for the Super League and the RFL.
Realistically going back the RFL should have been stronger and said these figures don't add up and been much more scrutising in the award of Super League licences because it's clear as day that the Bulls were not in a position to fufil the 3 year of a licence when they were awarded it.
Halifax on the other hand have just got on with their business.
Like someone has just posted above, no club is bigger than the League or the Sport but it seems many still don't realise this and quote stupid figures plucked from thin air to try back up that view, when looked at closer as I have provided don't stack up.
I want to see the Bulls in Super League next season but it's embarrassing seeing some thinking it's their god given right to be a super league team no matter how badly the club has been run.

You are like the proverbial fish, in that you can't resist the bait.(sorry about supplying it in copious quantity)
But you pick up on the non important point, whilst missing the whole gist of any story...
eg the 14k average quoted as an example of a near enough figure for the Bulls in 2012...You bust a gut trying to prove me wrong, whilst missing the whole point of an argument that Bulls fans feel very strongly about.
For the 16 years of SL, we have been a mainstay and a template for the RFLs concept of Super League in all but 5 of those years. And we still did a credible job even then.
In 1996 when Summer rugby came about, so we weren't competing with football and Rugby Union all the time. And the concept of Super League was born. The Bulls at their own investment made Super League what it is today.
I know the cost of Marketing over those first years was a 5 figure sum each year. And without anything from the RFL, to help or otherwise!
Of course we got plaudits from all over. And of course our club benefitted greatly with everything we achieved, as per the opening credits on the SKY televised game last Friday.
So when we discuss what our club can do for Super League again,
if given the chance, that's what we mean.
And I dispute one of your comments that the Bulls have been out with the begging bowl, that is a contemptiuos, assessment, we have never begged for anything.
We asked our supporters to help our staff to keep going so that they could put the games on, tthe fact that they and other supporters plus their clubs gave generously,
is something we will never forget. Your comments and those of a few others are beneath our contempt, if we can repay the favour.
Meaningless stats. and figures are for the unemotional non fan.
The passion and the belief is ours!

As for not begging, I guess this pledge thing never happened when people and business were asked to hand over £1m.
As for 14k being near enough for 2012, the actual figure as proved is closer to 11k, 14k was for the year ticket prices were £65 for a season. An increase of £20 seems to have driven 3k away.
