  • "Well Mr Hood is going, I for one realise it is now time for a change after the lease fiasco.
    However on operational terms we are now near break -even ( so they say) and in RL terms that is very good.
    Mr Hood inherited a huge debt and has been trying to recover the business since taking charge.
    I thank him for his work and for bringing in a good coach and for helping him build a good squad.
    I just wish he had done this 4 years ago & we might not have slid down so much on the playing side & then generated more cash via better attendances at home games.
    I hope that the new board do not interfere on the playing side and concentrate on getting some money into the business."

Mick Potter hailed Michael Platt after his stunning four-try haul powered the Bulls to victory at London Broncos yesterday in what looks certain to prove the final game of Peter Hood’s tenure.

Platt touched down twice in both halves of the 29-22 success as the Bulls recovered from a shocking start to claim their fifth away win of the campaign.

London scored three tries to lead 16-0 after just ten minutes before Potter’s men gradually assumed control thanks to Platt’s finishing masterclass.

Despite falling down the pecking order following the close-season arrival of Adrian Purtell and Keith Lulia, Platt has performed well when selected and took his chance in style in yesterday.

All four scores were predatory efforts in the right corner and Potter, who saw Karl Pryce’s 17th-minute try begin the fightback, said: “Platty did very well.

“He scored four tries and they weren’t just walk-in tries either.

“He had a fair bit of work to do to score them and I’m pleased for him because he has fought his way back into the team.

“He’s made his presence felt and showed that he’s a good outside back and has plenty of quality.”

Reflecting on the match, Potter added: “I was disappointed with the way we came out of the blocks but I was pleased with our second-half performance and the latter part of the first half.

“But it’s not the way that we want to perform every week. We want to be at our best for 80 minutes rather than 50 or 60 minutes.”

Potter reported an injury to Keith Lulia. The Cook Islands international was withdrawn in the second half due to a medial ligament strain, although the Bulls are not in action again until the trip to Salford on Friday week.

Hood, meanwhile, is poised to confirm he is stepping down as chairman this week, and fellow director Andrew Bennett will join him in resigning from the club’s board of directors.
