Luke Gale has been named in the Bulls’ 19-man squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Warrington in the Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth round.

The scrum-half has been sidelined for over two months with damaged ankle ligaments but is in line to make his return this weekend.

Brett Kearney is also in the squad as he looks to return after an ankle problem, while hooker Heath L’Estrange is back after a two-game ban.

Bulls squad: Addy, Ainscough, Bateman, Burgess, Diskin, Elima, Gale, Hargreaves, Jeffries, Kearney, Kopczak, Langley, L'Estrange, Lulia, Manuokafoa, Olbison, Platt, Pryce, Whitehead.

I would like to take this opportunity whilst my medication has kicked in to apologise for my childish behaviour, but being a life long City fan I have not had much to cheer about with them battling to stay in the league every year, and trolling and baiting the supporters of the Bulls is borne out of pure jealousy and I honestly wish them all the best in their battle for survival and hope they come through this a better side and go on to win more trophys as they are the only professional sports team in Bradford that are ever likely to do so as city look destined for failure for many years to come,. Please ignore any of my following posts as they will probably have been written by my dark, bitter and twisted side that takes over me most of the time ....

Strange - this is the excellent post that this decided you should not read. any other crap is ok! Is this right?
For all the Caisley fans - please read the below post (c/o Adeybull) and then see if you still want him back.....

"Cost the club a few bob"? Hmm...let's examine the evidence shall we?
.
This would be the same Chris Caisley whose seeming obsession with winning a urination contest with Hetherington led to a High Court action from Leeds for £3.2m? But hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley whose action in signing Harris led to the club having to pay out a substantial sum to Leeds, and an equally substantial sum to the lawyers, in settlement of that action? Which surprised me, since I felt sure from his comments at the time that he could have had no knowledge of the agreements between Harris and Leeds, so therefore what possible grounds could Leeds have had for suing us, as long as he could back that up and Hetherington could not? But what do I know? And hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley who was in charge when the club spent a substantial part of the Odsal Settlement money on paying cash for the Coral Stand, when it could have been leased and spread the cost - and the cash flow - over a far longer period? But hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley under whose management the club was reporting losses of over £600k p.a. after the return to Odsal, clearly totally unsustainable, and which - as we all saw - ultimately ended in massive cost reductions at the end of his tenure? But hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley, under whose management the club spent the large part of the Odsal Settlement cash in just three years, when it was meant to compensate us for the extra costs and loss of income for the period up to 2019? Guaranteeing that any future administration would have far less resources to work with but still all the extra costs? But hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley who regularly alienated the Bulls fans, let alone the fans and others from other clubs and elsewhere, with tirades about - for example - fans not turning out in the required numbers? Nice one Chris, attacking your once and future customers. Real smart thinking, that? But hey, we all make mistakes?
.
The same Chris Caisley who called on Sky to "blackout" transmissions in the geographical area of the home team when games were televised, thereby forcing people to go to the ground? (My housebound mother in law was incensed by that). Good customer relations there? Bit hey, we all make mistakes?
.
Yes indeed, we do all make mistakes. When you are buying success with money that you know will soon run out, those mistakes are not immediately as evident. But, after the money HAS run out, you still have to manage the consequences of those mistakes - or your successors do.
.
And, I guess while I am at it, the same Chris Caisley who, both as players' agent and also the club's largest shareholder at the same time, secured the loss of two Burgesses to the NRL. Was that not a clear conflict of interest, if you professed to love the club and want what was best for it?. But hey, we all make mistakes? Or, maybe not if there is a fee in it and your successor will get a panning for allowing it to happen?
.
The trouble is, these and other serious mistakes in the last few years of his tenure have blighted and tarnished the fantastic work and achievements of the previous years. Had he just gone quietly, I suspect most people would have remembered the successes and the glory, and forgotten the less good things and the mistakes. And, as a result, the current board would have copped for all the blame. But, by keep coming out and attacking Hood and giving the impression of pursuing a personal vendetta (only he knows how true or otherwise that is) all he is doing is laying himself wide open to attack himself.
.
I hold no brief for the present lot, and have been as frustrated at times as the next man; but I fear the prospect of the return of someone whose judgment seems to me to have been so clouded by a quest for revenge.

But, by keep coming out and attacking Hood and giving the impression of pursuing a personal vendetta (only he knows how true or otherwise that is) all he is doing is laying himself wide open to attack himself. .

He's had 6 years to turn this round the past 6 years have NOTHING to do with Caisley. Can't believe some people bought into this "Caisley is to blame" crap. Myself...and others who have been around long enough, stated the very day it was announced that Mr Hood was taking charge that it would mark the end of the successful Bulls era. Like Caisley or not, there is really no choice, because leaving Hood in charge will meab there is no club left to support soon.

Until Adeybull was "outed", he professed to be a "neutral" with only the club's interest at heart. However, with his tirade against CC and things that CC did, he has revealed that he is no more than a member of Peter Hood supporters (sychophants) club. I too could list all the dire mistakes Peter Hood has made during his tenure but don't wish to get into a "urination" contest. Peter Hood has failed - period. His clinging to power whilst intimating he is going is nothing more than political manouevering. Nero is still fiddling and Rome is still burning.

Wrong. My post was in response to a highly-partisan post by another guy, in pretty full support of Caisley. He said, in particular, something like "OK, he cost the club a few bob over Harris, but hey, we all make mistakes?". That comment seemed to me to so understate the issue that it required challenging.
.
So kindly do me the courtesy of referring to what I said in the context in which it was written .
.
You will also see that in my "tirade" against Caisley, I specifically referred to the amazing achievements of the earlier part of his tenure. And also that I stated that I held (and hold) no brief for the current lot, with whom I have been extremely frustrated.
.
I am nobody's sycophant, least of all Peter Hood's. I too could list mistakes he has made, even allowing for the situation he inherited. But he has anyway lost the confidence of much if not most of the fanbase, and even if he was to survive the attempt to oust him (which seems unlikely) we would desperately need a new man at the helm IMO. Something, incidentally, he himself recognises and has said so in as many words to me and others.
.
So please do not presume to tell me what I am or must be. And please do not disingenuously interpret what I say.
.
It is hard to see how Hood could remain in charge after all this is done, even if he miraculously survives the EGM. But, as I explained in my post, I fear the consequences of the alternative, since I do not have confidence in his judgment and I'm not sure a paternalistic autocrat is the best solution to our problems.
.
But SOMEONE has to be in charge, and if/when Hood goes then until and unless a better alternative presents himself, the only game in town right now looks likely to be Caisley. If he had put in the publidc domain proposals that would show that he could raise the funding that the current BoD have struggled to do, and in doing so keep the club out of administration then - as I have repeatedly said - I would support that. He has not done that though; I live in hope that he yet does.

I am not so sure. The last 6 years have included paying a substantial fee to Leeds and the ciurts because of the Harris saga. That was because of Caisley. Not Hood. Peacock lining up for the arch enemy, as captain, was because of Caisley's Crazy Harris Saga.
.
Hood is probably out of his depth. I don't really think he is the man for the job. But he is a Bulls fan and has done what he done out of love for the club.
.
Caisley is a buiness man. Whatever he does will be whats best for him.
.
I will never deny that Caisley did some wonderful work dragging the stale Northern into THE Super League team. But as chairman, you make great decisions and ok ones. Not great and catastrophic.

Not great and catastrophic. flashdonut

Wrong mate.
.
He inherited a looming car crash from Caisley. He managed to postpone the car crash for six years.
.
Just read - and understand - the accounts to see how long we would likely have lasted had steps not been taken? Just read Caisley's last chairman's statement for his despairing comments about the fans, the people of Bradford the prospects for the future. Indeed, I think I'll post them on here again since they got deleted last time I did, even though they are a matter of public record.
.
What Hood achieved was turning an impending car crash in to a long slow crushing. In the end, the recession meant he could not provide any more of a long-term solution than Caisley could. Caisley's only answer seemed to be ever-increasing crowds (read what he wrote). Hood's answer appeared to be was utting costs and selling family silver.
.
In the face of a major recession, neither solution works. The only solution that works is the sugar daddy one.

Reference above: here is the extract from the 2004 Annual Report (October 2005) that I posted. I have inserted paragraph breaks to make it easier to read, but otherwise it is verbatim straight from the pdf download (Acrobat is my friend...).
.
My own view on it? At the time, reading it I was angry with what he said. Over time, I have come to admit the justice - and the desperation - in his words. In other circumstances, I could not but very much feel for the guy.
.
Please, anyone, tell me after reading what HE wrote, just before he stood down, that he was not fully aware of - and seriously worried about - what was coming? And please see if the stance that it was all 100% fine till he stood down, then it all went belly up, is actually tenable having read the words of the man himself?
.
And I SAW the man, sweeping into the top floor of the Coral stand after a match that we won well, not that long before he stood down, with a face like thunder and clearly upset. It was because of how "poor" the crowd was (Sky game...). And he was right, too.
.
OK, here we go. Extract from Chairman's statement dated late October 2005.
.
.
.
Off the field we struggled with a disappointing downturn in attendances. This was a major and totally unexpected blow to our plans. Our average crowds were down significantly which lead to a consequential drop in ticket and gate income for the year as against budget.
.
Given the hugely successful 2003 season and the adversity which we had to overcome in 2004 the Board was surprised and concerned at the sudden lack of support which saw average crowds fall by over 1,000 per home game. Commercial sales also performed badly against budget. We reduced salaries by £266,000 over the year, but overall turnover remained static and total costs increased by £217,000. After depreciation there was a negative cash loss to the business in the region of £296,000.
.
Clearly, the business cannot continue to sustain such losses year on year and there will be a need to cut overheads and/or increase turnover. Of course, the biggest expense is the player wage bill, but in sport it is not just as simple as reducing those costs. The Club needs to remain competitive which requires that it has good quality players and a good junior development structure, all of which comes at a price. Therefore, there will be a push to increase the number of spectators attending games in 2005 and our commercial sales department will be tasked with the job of securing additional inward investment.
.
The fact remains that if Bradford wants a rugby league team to remain at the top of the sport and the pride of the city in terms of the prestige and the recognition which we bring then the people of Bradford will have to begin supporting the Club in ever increasing, not decreasing, numbers. I suspect that supporters will have to understand and accept that success can only be maintained for so long as the support remains high.
.
I believe that the Club has done its "bit" over the past 9 years or so to justify the essential amount of supporter loyalty which has not been evident in what has been a difficult year for the Club. I hope we can, and it is vital that we do put this right over the next 2 years.
.
.
.
Did he leave a club that was at the peak of its powers and on the up? And was he that wrong in anything that he said?
