Widnes Vikings 4, Bradford Bulls 38

Michael Platt scored twice as the Bulls again put the uncertainty surrounding the club to one side with an emphatic Super League victory at bottom club Widnes.

Platt touched down in both halves as Mick Potter's men ran in seven tries to outclass the Vikings, much to the delight of the huge army of travelling supporters.

The Bulls fizzed with vibrancy throughout and led through Ben Jeffries' try before Platt added a second to put them 12-0 up after nine minutes.

Widnes replied through Rhys Hanbury but Craig Kopczak crashed over on the stroke of half-time to confirm Bradford's superiority in front of a crowd of 5,687.

The one-way traffic continued after the restart as Adrian Purtell went over and Platt grabbed his second try, before Manase Manuokafoa and Keith Lulia applied further scores.

The Bulls have now won four times on the road in Super League this season, underlining their potential to make the play-offs at the end of the year.

One week ago I'd have been thrilled for us to reach £500k and to post two wins (I felt today might be a banana skin). Excellent result - well done to the team and the fans who were very audible on the radio commentary.
Now, the Board must take steps to put the fans out of our anxiety and hopefully make some positive noises about the future of the Club. If this uncertainty drags on, and we continue to hear that the Club may go out of business, then, even if we do come through it, it could damage player retention - with 17 out of contract it may make a polayer think twice about re-signing if you've had to go through all this uncertainty.
These trying times have pulled the Club together for sure. The fans have done their bit, the players have done their bit; now it's time for the Board to do theirs and, please, give us all some positive news.

Just on way back from Widnes, great following from the bulls fans in terms of numbers and noise! I know Widnes are bottom, but gutsy performance from the lads, played some great stuff. N gota say, Widnes are a credit to rugby league, putting the bulls video on screen n the announcer constantly trying to drum up support for the cause.

With current results'a golden academy and fanatical support it's no wonder that there will be investors wanting to talk to mr hood once the pledge has finished and also Im hearing persistent rumours about ken morrison probably rubbish but ya know.

Went to the game today, i also agree that Widnes are a credit to RL. The Bulls travelled in large numbers and took up most of the North stand. It's hard to say exactly how many! maybe 2000? It created a cracking atmosphere in a cracking ground, that pitch seemed to play great with no obvious problems. The Bulls just seem to be getting better. Manny scored to the delight of the fans. One funny moment came when the Widnes compare couldn't pronounce Manuokafoa priceless.

When Steve Bailey announces Manuokafoa someone should text in to report him for his language - we are after all a family club!

Just got back from Widnes and what a game. The west stand was full of Bulls supporters who created a fantastic atmosphere and outsung the Widnes supporters, it was like a carnival. I like many others would like some positive news regarding our plight for safety as we have too much history for everybody to throw it away.

Apparently we have hit the target with a bit left over. Before the game I heard an interview with Duckett and he said they were looking at three interesting options for the next part of the target. He called them options A - B - C.
Who knows, some people may be waiting till that £500k is in before they show their hand.
Interesting week ahead!

Was sitting next to John Batemen today - Don't think there is any danger he is going to warrington or indeed anywhere else!!. Good Bulls performance today but Widnes were poor - However a great club who have RL at the heart of what they do - Just a pity they cannot attract a bigger crowd. BJ again had a very good game and Potter once again has structured our side to play good RL. Hats off to Potter and to the side today.

I too would like to see shares in the club as an option. i would be more than happy to buy shares in the club with a view to seeing this great club continuing well into the future and not as a quick profit making jesture. Potter has the bulls looking fitter than i have seen them in a long time. lets all get behind this great club and leave the politics behind us

So proud of the team tonight: played well and defended brilliantly. Fans were very loud and the atmosphere was great. Three touching moments for me were: Widnes playing the Bulls' survival vid on the big screen; Widnes fans applauding us and us chanting Steve O'Connor's name and finally ... 3 Widnes fans wishing the Bulls luck as we walked to the car park. The most friendly away match I've been to. Genuinely nice fans and a collective appreciation of RL over team loyalties. Stick football; RL is the beautiful game. Thanks Widnes fans.

Great performance by the Bulls and great credit to Widnes for the support they gave to the Bulls cause,as all of the Rugby League family are doing.Unlike the tiny minority on here and the person who wrote into Mailbag at Rugby League Express stating he was a Bulls fan and saying he was not going to help financially. To him and the others I say you should be at the away games and then you would be in the company of real support for the club,Fridays game was also what the real Bulls supporters are about.Well done all those who were there today and Friday you are a credit to our club, not forgetting the players who have really stepped up to the mark despite all the financial problems we have at this moment. Two fine performances by the team and all the supporters.Keep the faith,COYB.

OK, another person making wild guesses and accusations.

If a company is insolvent then it is a criminal ofence for it to continue trading normally and incurring new debts.

If you know your company is going insolvent then you are not allowed to pay off any debts preferentially.

I have no knowledge about any supposed re-mortgage of Mr Hood's home. But, lets pretend it's true for a moment; you are attacking a man for re-mortgaging his home to support the Bulls and saying he doesn't care about the club??

Personally, I hope that he hasn't done this. I don't think that anyone should have to put their home at risk.

The whole thing around possible insolvency is fraught with dangers and rules, the board have to be very careful.

Come on Hollymae and Mid northern it's time to wake up and smell the coffee guy's. I have followed Northern/Bulls for nearly 30 years now and I am the last person on gods earth that wants my team to go into admin but it WILL happen and the sooner you realise this and visit the planet earth the better. I really do hope i am totally wrong but the future of our club is very bleak with our dept problem.
