Bradford Bulls: Keith Lulia set to offset Adrian Purtell blow

Keith Lulia Keith Lulia

Keith Lulia is poised to make his Bulls debut against Wigan on Sunday after Adrian Purtell was ruled out for six weeks.

Purtell tore his pectoral muscle during last weekend’s victory at Castleford and a specialist in Manchester yesterday revealed the extent of the injury.

Fellow centre Lulia has been working towards full fitness after a hamstring injury and may come straight into the side to face Wigan.

Meanwhile, James Donaldson will see a specialist on Monday to discover the extent of the knee injury he sustained against Castleford.

talk about a baptism of fire, it dosen't come much tougher than wigan, but looking forward to seeing in action, Shame that his debut come when Purtell is injured as i would have liked to see them both on the pitch at the same time for a tough game like this.

Just hope "Donaldson's" knee is not that bad, but probably the medical staff are trying to get the swelling down before he visits to the specialist.
Really do hope the lad gets a bit of luck with this injury, because he was just coming "back up to speed" in the first -team.

The Wigan game is going to be as tough as it get it’s a hell of a start for Lulia but I’ll bet the lads looking forward to the challenge.
I can’t wait to see Pryce in the team hopefully his start to the season will be this weekend too.
I see Steve Ganson is named as ref on Sunday so at least the penalty count won’t be as one sided as last Sunday

CON’ON YOU BULLS.

Let's bash the pies off the park. If we get a knock in the 3/4's we can move Walker out.

After seeing how they bullied Leeds and niggled, Leeds seemed to go in to their Shell on sat night. Gareth Hock was always looking for a fight, McIlLorum was niggling etc. We need the Bulls to fight fire with fire on Sunday and be ready to Man up and go toe-to-toe if the need arises. I would like to see Phil Joseph given a spot on the bench to meet the physical and fighting threat. I cant see anyone in the Bulls team who is a bit of a fighter when needed apart from him. Shame we cant have Lulia and Purtell on the pitch at the same time. Shame we dont have Elima in the pack too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Potter did a straight swap:

Lulia in for Purtell at Centre.
Pryce in for Donno to play in Centre with Walker on the bench. Walker could cover for Centre and Second Row.
We also haven't seen Joseph yet so maybe he'll get his chance this Sunday?

Pryce will be no where near the centres, he'll be ripped to bits in the center, he's a winger.

I'd be tempted to put Pyrce on the ing to counter Richards height. The bulls forwards are going to have to up there game to a whole new level to match the go forward of that Wigan pack. So I'd give Joesph and Manuokafoa a game if he's fit.

Whitehead in the centre and Pryce on the wing. I would have Pryce because as Bullsman said, he can counter Richards' height.

I would rather see Whitehead in centre than Walker as I think Whitehead is a better tackler and is generally a better player. I'd maybe have Walker on the bench as cover.

Whitehead is a quality player and would be an improvement at Centre, the problem is can Potter afford to take him out of the pack? We already look hopelessly 2nd best up front against Wigan and need all the help we can get against a their six who are likely to lay the platform for their backs to run is ragged.
