Bradford Bulls: Happiness is the key to consistency says Karl Pryce

Karl Pryce says being happy off the pitch holds the key to him performing on it as he prepares to pull on a Bulls jersey again.

The Bradford-born wing, 25, returned to Odsal during the close-season after a five-year absence, which included spells at Gloucester RU, Wigan and a loan spell at Harlequins last term.

A hamstring injury has kept him on the sidelines so far this season, but he is bidding to be passed fit to face Wigan on Sunday.

Pryce, who signed a one-year deal with the Bulls, is confident he can recapture his best form in the coming weeks.

He said: “I’ve done it in patches for the last two seasons but it hasn’t been enough consistently throughout the season.

“That comes with confidence and when you’re happy on and off the field, it’s a massive bonus.

“Long may it continue that I stay happy and keep my head down off the field.

“I’m sure my confidence will then come back – I feel like it’s more or less there.

“I’m happy with what I’ve been doing in training and, while not being able to play has been frustrating, there has been no point in pushing my hamstring.

“It needs to be right so I can hit the ground running when I start playing.”

Pryce says he has slotted in seamlessly to Mick Potter’s squad since coming on board over two months ago.

He said: “The boys are brilliant here but they always have been. Even when I was here five years ago it was the same.

“It’s a tight group, with a lot of young players in the squad, and we do a lot of things together, like going for something to eat and coffee clubs.

“Little things like that help and hopefully we can be as tight on the field as we are off it.”
