Pryce denied Bradford Bulls reunion

Leon Pryce was ruled out of today's Super League opener between the Bulls and Catalan Dragons at Odsal.

The Bradford-born stand-off, named in the visitors' original 19-man squad, was a late withdrawal due to injury, denying him a reunion with his hometown club.

Bulls coach Mick Potter named new recruits Elliot Kear, Adrian Purtell, Luke Gale and Jarrod Sammut in his starting line-up.

Catalan were already missing a specialist winger after a clutch of players were struck down by injury during pre-season, and the loss to Pryce was another major blow.

Dragons coach Trent Robinson, whose men are rated as dark horses to reach the Grand Final at Old Trafford, could at least call on two other Bulls stars in Steve Menzies and Ian Henderson.

Louis Anderson, signed from Warrington during the winter, made the starting line-up.
