Newly-appointed Bulls skipper Matt Diskin has geared up for tomorrow’s Super League opener by declaring: “We need to start delivering.”

Mick Potter’s men host Catalan Dragons at Odsal as they bid to end three years of failure.

Not since the 2008 campaign have the club qualified for the end-of-year play-offs, and the pressure is on to end that dismal run.

Diskin says a strong start to the season is vital and has urged them to hit the ground running tomorrow.

The former Leeds man, named joint captain along with Heath L’Estrange, said: “We need to start delivering and putting the performances in.

“The fans need that and so do we – it’s vital for confidence.

“Picking up some wins early on will be massive for how we do in Super League this year.”

And so the pantomime of false hope begins again. Hood saying we'll finish in the top 4 !! we'll be lucky to finish out of the bottom 4.

If you have kept up with Hoods self indulgent desire to get himself in the paper every week you would know that he has on numerous occassions sited that a top 4 finish is at the very least his aim if not a realistic prospect this year.

Once again he is fuelling expectations which absolutely no "one in the know" are backing

All the pudits are saying we will finish 10th & that is assuming we steer clear of injuries!!!

IMO I believe a top 8 finish is possible based on the players we have but like many have also pointed out that very much depends on players finding the heart, pride & passion of days gone by.

We have not seen much pride in wearing the red black & amber for too long

Returning to Hood though I do wish he would keep his opinions to himself & focus his efforts on managing the club rather than thinking of new ways he can get himself in the papers

If the club has something to say then leave that to Duffy after all he is supposed to be the media manager

I for one am sick to death of Hoods rheotoric & sound bites

With a bit of luck tomorrows game will go ahead & at last the performances on the field will fill the newspapers again

I live 2 miles from Odsal and at almost 4pm on Saturday it is snowing! Fingers crossed for tomorrow but I just wish all the PR rubbish would stop and all the people in charge of the club would just concentrate on results and nothing else.

You're not by any chance Peter Hood's PA? If not, you should apply for the job. He certainly needs someone to spin the positive on what he says and does and you have always done a superb job.

He said he expects a top 4 finish, as everyone else on here seems to know, you just concentrate on putting everybody who dares to criticise down and we'll concentrate on reading the papers.

Looks like the weather may have put paid to the "its only our 1st hit out, give them time to gel,its early days yet,its winning at the end of the season that matters!" against the "told you they were rubbish,no improvement at all,Potter out,Sack Hood" Shame love the contrasting posts on here match day.

according to the bulls web site they are confident the game will go ahead they are currently clearing snow for the covers & they do NOT intend to do a pitch inspection

Sounds like the confidence is again coming from Hood without bothering to take a reality check!

It is what is under the covers that will determine if the game will go ahead in the same way that it what is under the shirt that will determine how the season pans out

Lets hope it is still on after watching the two games on sky this weekend I can't wait to get things started

See briggs is on his way to fev for a season loan. To think most on here had him down to partnerGale at H/B.
Don't blame the lad himself, hes always given his best in the limited chances he's had at odsal.
MP just doesn't seem to rate the lad so if the club are going to keep potter they may as well let Briggs get a permenent place elsewhere.
Lads had a raw deal IMO at bulls.
