Sam Burgess has stressed that Bradford would always be his first choice if he returned to play in Super League.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs prop flew back from Australia during the week and one of the first places he visited was Odsal – the ground where he learned his trade and became one of the most feared forwards in the game.

Having been ruled out of the forthcoming Four Nations through injury, the former Bulls favourite returned to West Yorkshire to visit family and friends, including younger brother and Bradford prop Tom, before going back into training for the 2012 NRL season Down Under.

Speaking exclusively to the T&A, the 22-year old former Dewsbury Moor amateur said: “I’ve got a few goals I’d like to achieve and am really enjoying what I am doing in Australia at the moment but, if ever I did consider returning to Britain, Bradford are the first club I’d contact and I think everyone here (at the Bulls) knows that.

“Never say never – I didn’t expect the move to Australia to come so fast but I still love England and coming back to where I’m from.

“I love this place (Odsal) – I spent five or six years at the club and still have a lot of friends here that I keep in touch with.

“I’ve only been back two days but came pretty much straight here.”
