Platt back for Hull trip

Michael Platt has been named in the Bulls' 19-man squad for Friday's trip to Hull FC.

The utility back replaces youngster Jason Crookes in the only change from the group that travelled to Warrington last week.

Having come through 40 minutes in the under-20s' defeat to Warrington on Saturday, Platt has proved himself ready for a Super League return.

He is yet to play a game this season after injuring his knee in an accidental training-ground collision with Chris Nero in January.

It is the first time this year Steve McNamara has made a change to his squad, having stuck with the same 19 players throughout the first six weeks of the campaign.

Bulls' 19-man squad: Dave Halley, Rikki Sheriffe, Paul Sykes, Chris Nero, Stuart Reardon, Brett Kearney, Matt Orford, Nick Scruton, Heath L’Estrange, Andy Lynch, Steve Menzies, Glenn Hall, Jamie Langley, Wayne Godwin, Michael Worrincy, Craig Kopczak, Michael Platt, Elliott Whitehead, James Donaldson.

It's an amazing decision. Does it tell us that Macca is weak? Or that he does not see things?. Surely his Sat Nav system should be doing a huge amount of beeping at him. Worrincey has run no yards has not raised his heartbeat and has certainly not presented any positional excellence. It seems to me this so called new technology is either a load of Cr*p or the operators haven't a clue how to use it.I reckon when they look at his statistics they must read something like "your having a laugh"!.

I'm glad to see Platt back in the squad. We all know he's not the best under the high ball at fullback but from what I've seen of him at centre he looks good. He has the strength and pace to trouble the opposition.

I agree on Worrincy, he's been appalling this year so far. I think Macca is obsessed with size and strength

So I take it that when McNamara said that " he will not stand for a lack of concentration or application from his players" he didn't mean he would go so far as to actually drop them ? he probably makes them stand on the naughty step !!!!!

The GPS system isn't being used at the moment I don't think. It was only allowed in friendlies in this country (the aussies can use it in the NRL) not yet in competitive games. Although how anyone needs GPS to be able to track Worrincy, I don't know....! A snail could do it..

If Platt does get a game its probable Reardon will get some ball, Nero is far too greedy, he carries the ball in like a prop and takes the tackle. He also moves toward the centre of play and pulls Reardon with him.
I feel if you are going to carry the ball in you should at least have a good offload to bring your flanker in to play and send him on his way, if you remember the Giants game, Reardon did show some paces and he scored 2 try’s so I hope Platt does get a game just so we can see Reardon charging in on the Hull goal line and hopefully scoring a few more try’s.
COM’ON YOU BULLS.

Ha!Ha! imagine the screen. it would be like the dot on a 1950's TV screen after the epilogue!!

Interesting comments about the GPS seeing the Bulls and Wigan both said they would be using it this season. It was never made clear it could only be used in training and friendly's as far as I'm aware and looks an expensive project for what would be so little feedback. Would be nice to hear if the club are able to use it or have they been prevented?
Guess as usual they'll tell us in their own time?

Wigan have renamed their GPS system Haitch, its called Mike Forshaw who is on the pitch more than when he played!! He just follows them around!!!

We can only hope Worrincy is 18th/ 19th man....or that he will do a Langers and vom on the bus! if Worrincy makes the 17 its a travesty for the rest of the forwards who tackled their hearts out at the wire. Come on Macca do the right thing and get Worro in the 20's
