DANE Chisholm is tipped to rip League One apart when he is finally fit to join the Bulls' promotion push.

The influential Australian signed a two-year deal last month but is still on the way back from knee reconstruction surgery.

Yet joint-owner Andrew Chalmers predicts Chisholm will cause havoc in the third tier next season once he is back in the fold.

"With the strength of the signings we've got so far and are going to make, it's a pretty strong back line, a very strong halves combo and an incredibly strong pack," said Chalmers.

"We'll give most sides we play a real run. With Dane in the mix in that scenario, I think his game will get to another level – and I think that's the same with everyone."

Chisholm was released by the Bulls when Chalmers and Graham Lowe took over.

When he did finally return after a wrangle with Sheffield over his release, Chisholm lasted just an hour of action before rupturing his knee against Hull KR in the Summer Bash at Blackpool.

But in that time, he scored a try and looked sensational as the Bulls ran the Championship top dogs close before going down 20-19.

Asked if he should have re-signed Chisholm earlier, Chalmers said: "I don't really think about regret. You make the best decision you can at the time with the info that we'd got.

"Dane showed in those 60-odd minutes that against the best team, who are now promoted into Super League, we were within a hair's whisker of knocking them over.

"If he hadn't got injured, we'd have had a slightly different end to the season – but it is what it is."
