BULLS winger Ethan Ryan insists the team will not lose their focus after finally reaching zero points.

Ryan returned from a two-game injury absence and scored four tries as Bradford ended a sequence of nine consecutive defeats with a 47-12 victory against struggling Oldham on Sunday.

However, the highly-rated 21-year-old is under no illusions about the size of the task still facing the Bulls as they battle to avoid relegation from the Kingstone Press Championship.

"We are not getting ourselves too worked up and too buzzed about it because we have a job to do now on Sunday against Halifax," he said. "Both Dewsbury and Swinton also won so there is no room for error."

The Bulls still have 11 games remaining but are 10 points adrift of the safety zone.

Halifax, beaten by Swinton last weekend, are fifth in the table – only two points shy of a place in the qualifiers.

"We do need to take confidence from the Oldham game and kick on with it against Halifax," Ryan said. "We dropped off in the last 10 minutes but it was still a very good performance."

Ryan admits that it was 'special' to score four tries in a game for the first time in his career, but paid tribute to the role of half back Joe Keyes in his display.

"I was raring to get out there again and excited after being out injured for the past two weeks," he said. "To get four was special for me because I have never done it before.

"But that was one of the best games I have ever seen Keyesy play. He ran it around the park all day, along with Jordan Lilley. To have him on my side, delivering the ball like he does, is great. He does all the work and I just try and finish it off.

"There were also a lot of leaders out there and that was really good to see."
