SKIPPER Scott Moore insists "it's now or never" in the Bulls' pursuit of Championship safety.

Having taken up the reins upon Leon Pryce's retirement earlier this month, the former St Helens hooker is determined to see Bradford beat the drop.

That quest begins tomorrow at Rochdale, where one of the Bulls' main relegation rivals will be the opposition.

Moore told the T&A: "Rochdale are not in the best of form – but then neither are we.

"They're going to be in and around the bottom of the table with us, so it's important that we knock these kind of games off and rack up as many points as possible.

"It's a chance to put down a marker and it can definitely be a massive confidence-booster as well.

"If we do beat the teams in and around us, it's going to stand us in good stead for later in the campaign when we meet them again.

"I know a handful of the lads at Rochdale and Ant Walker, a good friend of mine, has just signed there.

"They're one of those teams that if we're not on our game they could potentially upset us, so we need to take our hard work in training into this game and do whatever it takes to get the win.

"The performance doesn't matter at the moment, it's all about that win."

With ninth-placed Oldham heading to Odsal next weekend, Moore accepts that this double-header will have a big say in the Bulls' fortunes this campaign.

"We picked up a few injuries last weekend and a few of the lads are still carrying knocks, so it's been a disturbed week in some way, but we need to be right on it tomorrow," he remarked.

"This game is definitely a must-win – in fact, I think the next two games are must-wins.

"It's very mathematically possible for us to get out of trouble and I think we have been playing better recently – barring the Dewsbury game – so we can take real confidence from that.

"It's a big two weeks and it's now or never."

On becoming Bulls skipper, Moore concluded: "Taking over as captain hasn't made a great deal of difference to how I approach games. Last week I just tried to get the boys up for the game and then focus on doing my job.

"Obviously I'm a bit older now, and have a bit more to say, but I just try to lead by my actions and play as well as I can."
