CLUB sponsor Provident has thrown its weight behind the Telegraph & Argus’ Back the Bulls campaign, urging fans to rally round the players.

The Odsal club are fighting for survival in the Kingstone Press Championship and are still on minus two points for the season – following their initial 12-point deduction after liquidation.

Bradford supporters are being urged by the T& A and the club to ‘Back the Bulls’ for the remaining six home games of the campaign, and help roar their team to safety.

Provident has now issued its own rallying cry and urged Bulls fans to support the team, both home and away, during the run-in and help take the club forward.

The Godwin Street-based firm is in the fifth year of principal sponsorship of the club and some of its other promotional work has included running ticket giveaways, matchday activities and VIP trips to the Summer Bash event in Blackpool.

Bulls’ bid to get out of its negative points tally continues this Sunday when they travel to Rochdale Hornets (kick-off 3pm), with new head coach Geoff Toovey also backing the campaign.

Paul Mitchell, sponsorship manager of Provident Financial, said: “The club has been through some difficult times, we all know.

“We have been backing the club for a number of years now.

“We have given our support to the club and for the T&A to do the same thing is a good filip for the club.

“We want to see more people going through the turnstiles.

“Nobody wants to think about relegation to League One, but it still could be on the cards.

“The more support the fans can give the lads in the last few games, both at the Provident Stadium and at its away games, the better.

“The players put in all of their effort, but it makes a difference to them if they have a large fanbase roaring them on.

“It is a key last few games now. The more we can do with the T&A’s campaign to support the Bulls, the better.”

Mr Mitchell also praised the Bulls’ faithful, adding everyone is in it together when it comes to the club’s survival bid.

He added: “Football refers to the 12th man regularly and Bulls fans have been outstanding as the 14th man, game after game, home and away for a difficult few years.

“Provident has supported those fans as much as we can over the last four years and it’s great to see the T&A doing the same for what is a crucial business end to the season.

“If all of this means getting a few more voices pushing the lads on from terrace, then that’s for the better. In it together for this great club.”

Competitions, special offers, and messages from former stars and supporters from around the world will be just a few of the highlights over the coming weeks in the T&A’s campaign.

While a new dedicated ‘Bradford Bulls – The Telegraph & Argus’ Facebook page will keep fans up-to-date with the campaign’s progress and latest news.
