THE Bulls women's side have made a blistering start to their season – much to the delight of head coach Mark Prescott.

Racking up well over 200 points from their first four games, the line-up have a 100 per cent winning record this term and Prescott is keen for that perfect run to continue.

He said: "We are really pleased with the way things are going. There is always room for improvement, which is great, but we are very happy with the way things are progressing at the moment.

"We have built on last season. We've played four games – three in the league and one in the cup – and have won all four.

"It's probably the defence that pleases me more than the attack at this stage. We know what we can do going forward, we just have to perfect the defence."

Bradford and England centre Amy Hardcastle added: "We've had one or two easy games which don't reflect what we are truly capable of.

"We played Featherstone at the start of the season though, which was really tough, and that is the sort of game that you need to gauge your ability.

"Whereas, when you play the Army and you score 92 points, it looks good but the standard is completely different."

Second-rower Shona Hoyle commented: "It was a good performance against Featherstone. It was a great team effort because they have a national-standard squad and we ground out a great win.

"They have a few England players in there and they are the ones that you want to be scoring past, not the part-time ones."

The team are supported by Provident, who supply their kit and enable the Bulls women to represent the city on the pitch.

Prescott said: "It's important to have Provident sponsoring us, not having to pay subs every week and fork out for kit. It is just the right thing to do for the women's game.

"Thanks to Provident for giving what they give and thanks to everyone there. It is very much appreciated."
