ACTING coach Leigh Beattie wants a positive reaction from the Bulls tomorrow after last weekend's setback against Oldham.

Bradford host Sheffield Eagles at Odsal tomorrow (3pm) seeking to bounce back from the shock of a 26-22 defeat over the Pennines.

Beattie, who is still on media duty due to the delay in finalising the employment of Australian coach Geoff Toovey, said: "It was a huge game last weekend, in terms of promotion and relegation, and the lads want to put it right.

"This is another big 'four-pointer' and we are looking for a positive reaction. They are getting on each other and fixing each other up."

The Bulls, still bottom of the table following a points deduction imposed by the Rugby Football League, had won four of the previous five Championship games before last weekend's defeat and had also been on a high after a 56-18 home victory over Dewsbury Rams.

Yet they threw away two points at Bower Fold when conceding a try three minutes from the final hooter.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are eighth in the standings and seeking a third consecutive win after beating London Broncos and Swinton Lions in the last two weeks.

"It will be tough because they have just won back-to-back games and beaten London, who are a good side," said Beattie.

"They are definitely going to be a test and we are not the finished product yet by a long way."

The Bulls are boosted by the return from injury of captain Leon Pryce, full back Oscar Thomas and French international Kevin Larroyer.

Former Hunslet Hawks forward James Davies, who has been on trial, is also poised to make his debut after 18 months out of the game.

Beattie acknowledges the importance of winning home games if the Bulls are to move up the table this season.

They lost in round two at home to Rochdale Hornets but have subsequently won the next three at the Provident Stadium.

"We have spoken about making Odsal a fortress again and working hard there," admitted Beattie.

"We have good support and that's been lacking a bit in the last couple of years – but we also let the fans down a bit with some of the sides we had. Hopefully, with more hard work, we will get there."
