ANDREW Chalmers cannot wait for the Bulls to zero in on "first base".

Wiping out the 12-point deduction remains the only target for now in the eyes of the joint-owner.

Two wins have chipped four off that so far and with a run of predominantly home games to come, starting with Matt Diskin's Batley Bulldogs tomorrow, Chalmers is hopeful of achieving that objective as early as possible.

"We've got to build that momentum and keep improving week in, week out," he said.

"We're being very realistic about how far ahead we're looking.

"We want to keep clawing back those 12 points to get to zero. Then we'll start looking up.

"Getting back to zero is first base. Then we'll see how far through the season we are and set new objectives."

The Bulls have gained ground on four clubs but after back-to-back wins, last week's 42-12 loss at London came as a slap in the face.

Chalmers said: "It was unusual because we lost both our halves during the week.

"Then the game didn't pan out right with losing a prop (Jon Magrin) after five minutes. He was knocked out; completely gone.

"It took us a half to get on top of it. The second half was a fairer reflection and although we lost it 12-6, it was closer than that.

"You can see the football staff working hard to do the best they can with the players they've got.

"This is a club with such a long history that has achieved such great success.

"There are always people who will look back – but we are where we are. We have to deal with where we are now."
