NEW signing Daniel Murray is looking forward to his first taste of Championship rugby league with the Bradford Bulls.

Prop forward Murray has arrived at Odsal on a month's loan from Super League side Salford Red Devils and is likely to make his debut in tomorrow's home game against Toulouse Olympique XIII.

Still only 20, Murray has yet to play for Salford and gained his only first-team experience on loan at Rochdale Hornets last season in League One.

"There are some quality blokes at Salford and, being a young lad, I wanted to go out and get some experience," he said. "I wanted to get a feel for the Championship and experience of playing in a very competitive league."

Murray revealed that the Bulls first expressed an interest in his services three weeks ago when he impressed in a pre-season friendly for Salford against Hull.

"It died down until last week when suddenly it was back on," he said. "On Monday, I asked 'What's happening with Bradford?' because I was keen to play and get a bit of game time. On Tuesday, I got the call to say it was done, and by Wednesday I was training with the club.

"I can't wait to put a playing shirt on and play some decent minutes," he added. "I played four games for Rochdale last year and that was a step up with physicality and a test for me at the age of 19 but I enjoyed it. Now this is my first taste of Championship rugby and I am really looking forward to it."

Murray had no hesitation signing for the Bulls despite the fact they are on minus ten points at the bottom of the table.

"I knew all about the Bulls," he said. "I know what they are going through and I just want to help them get through this difficult patch, get the points on the board, and get them into 'plus' points."

Murray arrived at the club just days after they recorded their first victory of the season at Swinton Lions.

"You could see the effect last week's result has had on the lads in training," he said. "They looked a bit more upbeat than what you would think. They are all enthusiastic and raring to go."

Asked whether he would be willing to stay with the Bulls beyond his initial month's loan, Murray said: "We will see how it goes. It's up to Salford. It's up to higher people really. I will get told and play here as long as they want me."
