BRADFORD Bulls wing Omari Caro is set to miss the club's next three games in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Caro suffered damaged ankle ligaments during the Bulls' pre-season friendly at Huddersfield Giants last month.

He was absent for the opening game of the season at Hull Kingston Rovers and will not figure in Sunday's first home game against Rochdale Hornets.

The Jamaican international, 25, has been provisionally pencilled in for a return to action against his former club London Broncos on March 5.

Second row Colton Roche, meanwhile, is expected to recover from a knock he suffered at Hull KR and Joe Keyes is also pushing for a return after missing last weekend's 54-24 defeat with a groin problem.

Samoan rugby sevens star Phoenix Hunapo-Nofoa, who joined the Bulls on a one-year deal in midweek, is not available and head coach Geoff Toovey will again have to settle for a watching brief due to the on-going delays in processing his visa.

The former Australian Test star sat in the stands last weekend and will be introduced to the Odsal crowd on Sunday but his ineligibility leaves Academy coach Leigh Beattie acting as stand-in.

The delay in securing Toovey's paperwork is currently a frustration for everyone at the club.

"It is frustrating that he can't do more yet," admitted Beattie. "He brings bags of experience and I, personally, can't wait for him to get started so I can start learning off him."

Beattie has stood in as first-team coach for two pre-season games and the opener at Hull KR but Sunday is likely to be his only home game in charge.

Asked whether it would feel 'special' to stand in for a first home game, he said: "I haven't really thought about it to be honest! The games have rolled around and I am just looking for those two points. It means a lot to me, being a Bradford lad, and it will probably be emotional afterwards."
