BULLS co-chairman Andrew Chalmers is hopeful that new signing Phoenix Hunapo-Nofoa will be in action within the next two weeks.

As reported, the Samoan sevens star signed an initial one-year deal with the Odsal club yesterday.

The speedy 22-year-old utility back is understood to have attracted interest from NRL clubs before completing his switch to Bradford.

Former New Zealand Rugby League chairman Chalmers told the T&A: "He's pretty exciting, isn't he? He's a real jewel.

"He's a goal kicking, drop kicking, 60-metre punting, attacking half back/full back.

"He'll be over and able to play hopefully in the next couple of weeks."

While Sunday’s first home game of the season against Rochdale will come too soon for Hunapo-Nofoa, Bulls skipper Leon Pryce admits he is ‘buzzing’ ahead of his Odsal return.

The 35-year-old won two World Club Challenges, three Super League titles and two Challenge Cups with the Bulls before leaving at the end of 2005.

His stellar career continued with St Helens, Catalan Dragons and Hull before his return to Bradford ahead of the new campaign.

Pryce said: “I can’t wait for my first game back at Odsal – I’m really excited about it, buzzing.

“I started going to watch Bradford when I was seven years old, was a ball boy, and dreamt of playing there one day. So to lead the team out as the captain there on Sunday will be incredible.”
