FORMER Bradford Bulls player John Bateman is 10-1 favourite with betway to be named Man of Steel at the end of the season.
The versatile Wigan Warriors star is two points ahead of Warrington Wolves prop Chris Hill, with Bateman's team-mate, stand-off George Williams, third favourite at 14-1, and another Wolves ace, hooker Daryl Clark, at 16-1.
Former Bulls half-back Luke Gale (Castleford Tigers) is among six players bracketed at 20-1.
Winger Joe Burgess, back with Wigan this season after spells in the NRL with Sydney Roosters and South Sydney, is a clear favourite to be top try-scorer.
He is 7-1, with a trio of wingers being next best at 14-1 – Leeds Rhinos' Ryan Hall, Wigan Warriors' Adam Smith and Castleford Tigers' Greg Eden.
