ROHAN Smith is hoping to inspire Leon Pryce in the same way that Daniel Anderson and Trent Robinson did earlier in his career.

Pryce has rejoined the Bulls on a 12-month deal and is poised to end a stellar playing career at his home-town club.

The 35-year-old quit Bradford over a decade ago and joined St Helens, where he won a famous treble under Anderson during his debut season at Knowsley Road.

Pryce then enjoyed a three-year stint at Catalans Dragons playing under Australian coach Robinson, who steered Sydney Roosters to the NRL title in 2013.

Bulls head coach Smith worked under Anderson at New Zealand Warriors at the beginning of his career and with Robinson at Newcastle Knights and then again at the Roosters.

"Leon has been in some great programmes, learnt a lot and played at the highest level," said Smith.

"We are working closely together here at Bradford because Leon and I have been involved in the same school of coaching.

"He's played under Daniel Anderson and Trent Robinson and really enjoyed it, so I think he will find some common threads with me.

"I hope I can challenge Leon and really stimulate him to find the biggest impact he can have on the team.

"Obviously at his age he's not going to have the spring in his step that he once did – but he can still have a massive impact on the team because he's a calm head and will bring so much experience to the team.

"At times in games it can be ugly, so having some veteran guidance in the halves to go with some of the other more flamboyant stuff that other guys will be able to provide for us is invaluable."
