OMARI Caro could be set to leave the Bulls after being granted permission to miss the start of pre-season in order to try his hand at Rugby Sevens with Jamaica.

The 25-year-old winger was brought to Bradford by former head coach Jimmy Lowes midway through last season after impressing during an initial trial spell.

Current head coach Rohan Smith succeeded Lowes in May of this year and, within a month of his appointment, the Australian handed Caro a contract extension until the end of the 2017 campaign.

However, Caro fell down the pecking order towards the end of last season and Smith has since signed London Broncos winger Iliess Macani on a two-year deal.

With home-grown wideman Ethan Ryan, James Clare and Johnny Campbell also vying for wing spots, Caro will be allowed to leave if an opportunity arises elsewhere.

The minnows of Jamaica are aiming to reach the Rugby World Cup Sevens and Caro is set to be part of their squad at a pre-qualifying tournament in Trinidad this weekend with pool clashes against Guyana, Turks & Caicos and Martinique.

Should Jamaica advance as one of two successful teams from the tournament, they would play further World Cup qualifiers in Hong Kong ahead of next year's competition proper in San Francisco.

Jamaica are currently 84th in the world rankings and former London and Hull KR man Caro has previously represented Jamaica's rugby league side.
