BULLS prop Ben Kavanagh is relishing the prospect of testing himself against the world's best in the forthcoming Four Nations.

The forward has been named in Steve McCormack's 24-man Scotland squad for this autumn's tournament along with Danny Addy and Dale Ferguson.

The Bravehearts get their campaign underway a fortnight on Friday as they face world champions Australia in Hull before taking on England in Coventry and then New Zealand in Workington.

Kavanagh, who represented Scotland at the 2013 World Cup, joined the Bulls last December and featured heavily in the latter stages of the 2016 season after missing the first half of the year through injury.

He made 15 appearances during the past campaign, scoring two tries in his debut year in the red, amber and black.

The 28-year-old said: "The squad has now been announced and I'm in it, so I'm delighted with that because I'm always very proud to represent the Bravehearts.

"Hopefully I've done enough to push myself into that 17 which will compete in the Four Nations.

"It's always good to test yourself against the best players in the world, which is what teams like England, Australia and New Zealand have to offer. I'm just looking forward to getting stuck into it now."

Addy and Mitch Clark are expected to confirm they will be joining relegated Hull KR, while Huddersfield are set to finally announce the signing of Ferguson, Paul Clough and Lee Gaskell.

Three more Bradford-born players – Liam Hood, Ben Hellewell and Adam Walker – have also been included in the Scotland squad but there is no place for Oscar Thomas or Jonny Walker.

Joe Keyes has been named in Ireland's 22-man squad for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup qualifiers.
