DANE Chisholm believes winning the Championship Shield would be "awesome" and a fitting farewell for the raft of players leaving the Bulls.

Rohan Smith's side host Sheffield Eagles at Odsal on Sunday aiming to clinch the club's first piece of silverware since the World Club Challenge in 2006.

A number of players who are leaving the club are set to feature and Chisholm believes that will add to the emotion of the occasion.

"Winning the Shield was a goal that we set ourselves once we failed to make the top four," said the Aussie half-back, who has impressed since joining the Bulls in July from the Canterbury Bulldogs.

"We've taken it game by game and now here we are in the final, which is pretty pleasing, so there is just one more game to go now.

"Every competition is different but to come over here to Bradford and win a trophy within two or three months of arriving would be awesome.

"It's good to have been able to play with all these lads since I came here. We're all starting to play pretty well together and I've made some really good mates here.

"I'll be sad to see a lot of them go but we'll have a few new boys coming in during the off-season and I think we will hit the ground running next year.

"Winning the Championship Shield will give us the confidence that we can be successful and should set us up nicely for the 2017 campaign.

"Sheffield have some big lads but if we can weather the storm, then we should be okay in the back end of the game."

Kurt Haggerty is available again after a two-game ban and Smith must decide whether to recall the second-rower.
