JOE Keyes has revealed his dream debut for the Bulls has made him even more determined to help the club back into Super League.

Two months after joining Bradford following his release from London Broncos, the half-back made his bow in Sunday’s 82-0 home win over Oldham.

He scored a try and kicked 10 goals in an impressive 24-point haul while dovetailing effectively alongside Dane Chisholm throughout.

Although the crowd was little more than 3,000 for the visit of Scott Naylor’s side, the occasion provided Keyes with a taste of the club’s potential.

The 20-year-old said: “On matchdays at Odsal, it feels like a Super League game.

“You go to some grounds in the Championship and no disrespect, but a lot of the crowds aren't great.

“Playing in front of this support every week does inspire you and makes you want to get back up there.

“I think we put in a performance on Sunday that showed we are looking to get back up into Super League.”

Keyes had spoken in the build-up to the game how he believed his organisational skills and astute kicking game could complement Chisholm’s style of play.

Keyes added: “I was talking to myself in the week during my preparations about making a good start and getting some good early ball.

“I did that and felt really comfortable as I grew into the game.

“We all know what Chis can do and he showed that again on Sunday.

“I just wanted to show what I could do but I felt like we combined well.

“I'm grateful for all the fans voting for me as man of the match.

“It's a massive honour and something I've dreamt about for a long time.

“We didn't take Oldham for granted and it will be the same at Dewsbury.

“Keeping Oldham to nil was a massive statement for us defensively and we will take that into Monday's game.”

Meanwhile, the Bulls are believed to be stepping up their search for a new managing director following Robbie Hunter-Paul’s departure on Sunday.

Hunter-Paul’s exit – billed by the club as “compassionate leave” – followed the resignation of Steve Ferres at the end of the regular season.
