DANNY Williams has confirmed he will be leaving the Bulls at the end of the season.

The winger became Jimmy Lowes’ first signing when he arrived from Salford in July 2014, initially on a short-term loan deal.

He later signed a permanent contract which tied him to Bradford until the end of the 2016 campaign.

But Williams has been told by head coach Rohan Smith that he will not be offered a new deal and the much-travelled wideman is now assessing his options.

Williams said: “I don't think I'll be staying and I'm not keeping my hopes up for that changing.

“I was thinking about things before the transfer window closed but I'm just going to try and focus on Bradford now and try and sort things out at the rest of the year.

“Would I mind going part-time? No, not at all.

“With me getting a bit older, if I do go part-time then it gives me a chance to focus on a career after rugby.

“I've got nothing specific lined up but I do have a few options so we'll see what happens at the end of the year.”

James Clare, Omari Caro and young Ethan Ryan are all under contract for next season and London Broncos winger Iliess Macani is also expected to join the Bulls for 2017.

It is understood that Bradford could sign four London players in Macani, props Mark Ioane and Jon Magrin and second-rower Alex Foster.

Jay Pitts could be heading in the opposite direction, with London believed to have offered the Bulls back-rower a two-year deal.

Adrian Purtell’s future remains uncertain as he is contracted to Bradford for another year but he too could be on the move.

Tom Olbison and Matty Blythe are out of contract at the end of the season and could join a huge raft of departures which includes Lee Gaskell, Mitch Clark, Paul Clough, Dale Ferguson, Danny Addy, Dan Fleming, Steve Crossley, Epalahame Lauaki, Lucas Walshaw, Jonny Walker, Etu Uaisele and Richie Mathers.

Williams, for his part, is hoping to finish his time at the Bulls on a high after making a try-scoring return to the side in Sunday’s 46-18 win at Whitehaven.

Williams – who turns 30 next month – has struggled for game-time since Smith took the reins but he enjoyed his outing in Cumbria at the weekend.

Williams added: “It's good to get a game again because I hadn't played for a while and have just not been getting picked.

“Obviously Rohan picks the team and I've got to respect his decision.

“When you get your chance, you've got to be ready.

“It would have been nice to be offered a new deal, but Bradford are choosing to go in a different direction and there are young lads like Ethan Ryan coming through, so it's fair enough.”
