SCOTT Naylor's in-form Oldham side will be aiming for a fourth straight victory when they arrive at Odsal tomorrow.

The relegation-threatened Roughyeds recovered from a 12-point deficit in the first half to record a third win on the spin against Swinton last weekend.

Naylor's side also trailed 14-6 at the break but responded well to claim an important 26-24 success in front of 758 supporters at Bower Fold.

Kieran Gill kick-started the comeback with his third try in as many appearances. Michael Ward added a brace in the second half to put Oldham in front and Adam Clay also went over.

Clay's effort came with the Roughyeds down to 12 men as Richard Lepori was in the sin-bin.

Naylor steered the Roughyeds to a long-awaited promotion last season and is relishing the prospect of facing the Bulls, a club he still holds close to his heart.

A rugged centre in a star-studded Bradford team, Naylor joined the club from Salford ahead of the 1999 campaign and won every trophy on offer during a glittering five-year stay.

The Lancastrian is quietly confident of keeping his side up as they get ready for the Championship Shield.

"We had an horrendous run of injuries during the season which just didn't help with the size of squad we had," said Naylor.

"Trying to get more players in during the season to increase the quality and numbers turned out to be extremely difficult. For some reason, we just seemed to hit barrier after barrier.

"Next season, I would do things a lot differently to what I've tried to do this year – but I believe in my lads and am confident we can stay up."

Oldham will seek to avenge the heavy defeat they suffered against Bradford at Stalybridge last month.

Naylor said: "It's a good game for us and because it's not midweek, hopefully we can put in a better performance than we did last time. The previous game against Bradford, what we had available was on the pitch.

"They had all been out and done a day's work before they played – but our fans understand that and what we are trying to do. They are intelligent because they know what we are up against."
