DANE Chisholm admits the Bulls are overflowing with confidence following Sunday's demolition of Whitehaven as they bid to claim a top-four spot.

Rohan Smith's men reduced the struggling Cumbrians to rubble with a stunning first-half display which saw them lead 52-0 at the interval.

Nobody impressed more than new recruit Chisholm, who scored twice in the opening 40 minutes and had a hand in several other tries during the 64-18 success.

Another victory at home to Oldham this weekend would leave Bradford well placed to claim a place in the middle eights ahead of their final-day trip to Featherstone.

Half-back Chisholm said of his classy brace: "That comes from Rohan telling me to back myself.

"For my second try, I saw where the full back was and did a little chip which I collected to score.

"Rohan has told me to back myself and play what I see in front of me.

"Lewis Charnock and I have spent some time working together in training and have already begun to build some decent combinations.

"The way our forwards were going through the middle against Whitehaven meant there were so many holes out wide and that made it so much easier for me play.

"Kurt Haggerty is a good player and Kris Welham is a strong ball-runner who can find the line, plus I thought Ethan Ryan was really good too.

"We can definitely take a lot of confidence out of a win like that.

"We do have a few players out at the moment and when we get them back we will be even stronger.

"When I played at Hull KR last season, they had an amazing fanbase and it's very similar at Bradford.

"It's good to play in front of fans like this because they are rowdy and really get behind you, which helps."

Yet Bradford switched off at times after the interval against Whitehaven and were outscored by three tries to two.

As the Bulls bid to overcome Scott Naylor's Roughyeds at Odsal this weekend, and potentially move into the top four, Chisholm is keen for standards not to slip.

"There was a lot of good talk in the sheds at half-time but we didn't actually come out and put that into practice on the field in the second half," he said.

"We've got to be a bit better than we did in that second half.

"I keep hearing about the league table but I'm not too fussed about that or where other teams are.

"I'm more concerned with Bradford and putting in 80-minute performances and not just 40."
