JAY Pitts admits Sunday's loss to Leigh was "devastating" but has set his sights on maximum points in the Bulls' three remaining games.

Bradford's hopes of making the middle eights are hanging by a thread after Sunday's 22-20 defeat left them three points adrift of the top four.

Rohan Smith's men must now beat Whitehaven, Oldham and Featherstone and pray that Halifax or Batley slip up.

Second-rower Pitts said: "When you are winning a game like that with five minutes left, your emotions are high and you are pumped.

"To then lose it like we did after putting so much effort in was absolutely devastating.

"It has been the story of our season – we have got up for the big games every single time but we have messed up in little stages.

"We need to be beating teams like Leigh and I don't think it was a sluggish start but more of a case of trying too hard.

"We knew there was a lot riding on the game and should maybe have relaxed going into it.

"But there are no complaints from us because Leigh came away with the win, so we've got to keep working and see what happens."

Next up is a home game against lowly Whitehaven, where victory could lift the Bulls to within a point of the top four.

New signing Dane Chisholm should make his debut on Sunday and Pitts said: "We'll just take every game as it comes and if it's out of our hands, then so be it.

"We cannot dwell on the Leigh defeat and we will do our best to win all our remaining games. We will see where that takes us."
