KIEREN Moss was delighted to beat Batley on his Odsal debut – now he wants to defeat derby rivals Halifax.

The Australian full back made an impressive first appearance on home soil in the hard-fought 17-16 win over John Kear's side on Sunday.

He will get another run-out at the famous old stadium this weekend as fourth-placed Halifax arrive for a huge West Yorkshire derby.

"The Batley game was awesome and I've never played in front of fans like that before," said Moss.

"It's great to know we have such good support and the fans over here are a lot more passionate than in the NRL.

"When something goes well, the first thing you hear is the crowd and that just lifts the boys' spirits that little bit more.

"Hopefully we can take the confidence and momentum of winning three times in a week into the Halifax game and get another victory. It's a huge game."

Moss was signed from Parramatta as Rohan Smith's first-choice full back.

Reflecting on the Batley victory, Moss said: "When the weather is like that, you have to play to the conditions and try not to push too many passes.

"It was a tough game but the boys did well to grind it out.

"We knew that Batley would try and give it to us early on – but it was just about holding on and keep chipping away.

"I just want to do my best, not only for Rohan but for the boys too. I'm enjoying myself here at Bradford."
