DANNY Williams has his eyes firmly set on maintaining his place on the Bulls wing following his return from injury.

Last month's victory over Workington was Williams' first competitive action since last autumn's Million Pound Game defeat to Wakefield after off-season surgery on his finger left him sidelined.

And with the Bulls out of action this weekend after their rearranged Championship fixture against Oldham was postponed due to the Roughyeds' Challenge Cup involvement, the 29-year-old is looking to continue the comeback trail following a frustrating period of his career.

"It's stressful when you've been out injured for a certain amount of time but it's good to be back," said Williams.

"I've got to keep pushing hard in training and when the opportunity to play comes, just do well enough in the game to keep your spot in the 13.

"The competition for places is tough, especially when you have the quality in the backline like we do here at Bradford.

"I'm using this week off personally to just recover myself because coming back from injury means I'm obviously still not at 100 per cent.

"So I just have to look after my injuries and, if I do that, I should be okay for Swinton next week."

Williams joined the Bulls from Salford, initially on loan, in 2014 as Jimmy Lowes' first new recruit after he succeeded Francis Cummins in June 2014.

The winger, as well as the rest of the current Bradford side, were sad to see Lowes depart the club a fortnight ago but the team are now focused on improving further until a new coach is appointed.

Williams said: "The boys are disappointed because everybody loved Jimmy – but we've got to just keep kicking on because things like this happen in rugby league, so we've just got to move on and concentrate on our game.

"We're a tight bunch of boys here, so we will stick together and we're looking forward to whoever is coming in next, but for now we'll just carry on with our own team performances."
