JOHNNY Campbell has finally been confirmed as a Bulls player on a two-year deal.

The Batley winger or full back, who has spent the past six seasons at Mount Pleasant, is currently recovering from a serious leg break and a badly dislocated ankle.

The 28-year-old sustained the injury during the Bulldogs’ 28-22 defeat to rivals Dewsbury in August.

But Campbell is making steady progress with his rehabilitation and is looking forward to pulling on a Bradford jersey having impressed against them in both league games last season.

“I can’t wait to get going at such a massive club. It’s going to be good,” said Campbell.

“The recovery is coming along nicely. Obviously, I’m disappointed because I wanted to hit the ground running when I joined, but what doesn’t break you makes you stronger.

“Turning full-time and using the facilities at the club will do me a world of good. I’m relishing the challenge to come back fit.

“I bring raw aggression, pace and a good step. I like to play off the front foot and like the open field after a loose ball. That’s where my pace is really effective.

“When I played for Batley against Bradford at Mount Pleasant I played really well and was man of the match.

“Then when Batley played at Odsal I won man of the match again. I played really well and caught the eye.”
